There is a new version of this brand of router called Linksys Wireless-G that allows transferring of data up to 54 mbps. However, just like other routers, you need to set it up first but no worries; with a step by step guide you will be able to enjoy your laptop and your wireless connection in no time.

Materials that you need in setting of your Wireless-G in a Laptop

* Ethernet cable
* Wireless-G
* Modem

Step One – Turn off your modem and plug one end of the Ethernet cable to the linksys router wireless-G in the port with label “internet” and plug the other the other end to your modem. Get your laptop and make sure it is turned off. Connected the Wireless-G router by using an Ethernet cable, just make sure that you plug it on the correct port of your laptop.

Step Two – Turn on the three devices, turn on the modem first. Let is set up with your internet provider and wait for the blinking light that means that you are connected. Plug the Wireless-G to its power source and wait for it to connect to your modem. Again, a light will indicate that you router is working properly.  Turn on your laptop and insert the CD that comes with the package for the linksys wireless router setup. Follow the instruction how to set up the CD in your laptop.

Step Three- You must change the IP to the advance setting. Once done, open any browser and type the gateway password. You will see a box where you will be asked to log in the username and password. And use the reset linksys router login which is the word “admin” in the just click Ok.
